The “Right to be Forgotten” in Japan

I am not a fan of this idea.
I can see some situations when it might be appropriate, but there are a lot more ways this could be abused. It is a subtle way of editing the past and that can be a dangerous thing to do.

Japan’s voting age moving to 18 & Constitutional change

I do think that the age of majority should be 18 in Japan. There is no good reason for it not to be. Coming of Age Day doesn’t have to change, but the benefits of 18-year-olds actually getting a voice are numerous.
I also put forward a thought about how Japan should amend the constitution, at least as far as where the priority should be.

Tipping and GIFs

Tipping has come to YouTube in Japan. I don’t think it’ll get all that much use. Particularly because you have to set up google wallet to use it. But it’ll be interesting to see if anyone uses it. I have it set up, but mostly just using it to see how it works and what people have to do to get it set up. The verdict currently is Too Complicated.

You can now make GIFs of the Idea Channel videos. This is more interesting, but not sure it’ll catch on either. Its easier than making them off-site, but I’ll be curious what the rights holders have to say about their use.
